Cursor Keys for the 16 X 16 Map grid
I would like to have Cursor Keys enabled for the 16 X 16 Map grid,
pressing the cursor keys should move the target square one hop in that direction.
It would make exploring the remote empty sectors that much quicker than jumping back and forth from the keyboard to the mouse.

That would be a good idea when a devs gets some spare time! It would make things much easier to navigate when I am looking for specific things.
What about coordinate entry? For example, N would no longer deactivate the map screen, but enter would. While in the map screen, hold shift, then enter the coordinates, then release. For example, in-system jumps would be
n-(hold shift)-b-5-(release shift)-enter
and you'd end up in the current system, sector B5.
out of system jumps would be a tad more complicated, but still intuitive. Each sector is numbered (1-30), and Z currently toggles back and forth between the system map and the galaxy map, so navigating outside the system would require memorizing (or printing out and then learning to memorize) the system numbers.
n-z-(hold shift)-2-5-(release shift)-z-(hold shift)-G-4-(release shift)-enter
would set a course to system 25, sector G4.

I think the original poster wanted an easier way to find things, not to write an essay, games that use the keyboard yoo much over complicate things and make it seem like hard work instead of enjoyment
