And yet, both "events" and "devloped addons" fit comfortably within the term "Community Projects."
Yes and no. Depends on how many people are involved in either. If it's only one person organizing the event, then sure, it can be classified as a project; but to further classify it as a community project might be misleading. Although it depends on whether you consider the organization of the project the end result or the results of the project... the end result.
Either way, I think that considering that player events are so vital for keeping people interested in the game, they merit their own sub-forum.
Otherwise Lecter, I think according to your logic we should just do away with all the sub-forums save one: General.

That depends entirely on what you mean when you say "Community Projects": is it a project in which multiple members of the community participate, or, an undertaking for members of the community.
Your weak attempt at a slippery slope (towards broad generality in forums) argument doesn't even merit a response.

Wow, took that a little personally didn't we? I'm not surprised you missed the sarcasm. Shall I draft it in the form of some legal document or other for you, outlining exactly where the exaggerations took place, and precisely where it is contrasting your insinuation that the further creation of sub-forums is a bad idea?

Actually, we used to have a single board where everything (suggestions, off-topic, bug reports, RP, general, etc.) was posted -- anyone who's been around long enough to remember the "Archives" forum has seen what it looked like. ;)
I caught the sarcasm, Gav; I was pointing out that what you were attempting to suggest about my logic was poorly supported. I note that you fail to contest my point about the ambiguity in the term "community projects," and how it makes your suggestion about my usage being misleading incorrect. If you'd like to take the time to think out your position and state it with precision, however, I won't complain.
It would be a refreshing change from your usual approach.

Hmm, sarcasm supported by fact and pedantic ramblings; Yeah you caught the sarcasm alright.
Long story short, as stated previously, I'm all for the creation of a "Player Event" forum. Regardless of how you choose to define "Community Projects", further refinement of the subject for clarity can hardly be a bad thing.

This has probably been suggested before, but I'm going to make a note anyway:
I'd be greatly appreciated if the Search feature didn't eat results after a page's worth, and being able to search for three-letter words would be nice too (we use a lot of acronyms!).

I'd like a feature where the creator of a post can have an option to allow the community to vote upon their idea. Something like Get Satisfaction, just to point out to the devs which ideas are most wanted by the community without having all the mess with comments :-)
Criticize me Captain!

I'd like a feature where the forum plays a special fanfare for its 64000th post. Or maybe its 65536th post...
RSS feeds for the entire forums, optionally rss feeds for a topic as well.
If you like Open Source software, you might check out www.myupb.com It uses a flat file database that performs every bit as good as mysql. I was one of the lead developers for a little over two years.
Check it out! :-)
Proper quoting would be nice.

rogue: Did the post count start at 0 or at 1? >_>
Anyway: I'd like the use of 'code' tags, to a) make binds, scripts and .ini or .cfg file text more easily discernible from the rest and b) avoid lines that take up 2 kilometers of screen.
Another thing would be overly large pictures. A limitation to, say, 1024 pixels in width, to avoid another source for the problem mentioned above.
Apologies if these have been posted already, I could not find them using google or the built-in search.

Can we have a shoutbox?
1) can we have the ability to bump a thread to the top if we like it? threads could only be bumped every ten minutes and it saves people from having to comment on a thread.
2) can we please get rid of the whole "accss the message board and then choose a forum thing? add a new heading on the left of the page called forumas which gives links to the different forums and display the "access the messeage board text once you click.
3) change the name from message board to forum

Retarded much?
Retarded much?
I'm glad you appreciate my idea Dr. Lecter.
A sage feature.
Can we establish a zealously enforced no RP posts in Bugs or Suggestions policy?
We obviously cannot, ye dirty pirate.
+1 Lecter.
