ok firstly let me say ive only played this game for 2 days and so you could all disagree with me but this is a really kool game so far. my ONLY complaint is that it seems like freelancer - pay monthly edition!

i think all good mmorpgs should have some form of classes but i think this game has a chance to have a real unique class system.
Instead of choosing your class when you start up i think you should be able to buy ships or equipment (maybe complete a special hard mission to be allowed to get it) which could give you abilities such as repairing your friends craft in battle.

This would allow you to change what you want to be so easily because you just change ships and would very kool. One minute im a healer for my group next battle i can change to my warrior ship.

This would also open up the ability to use buff devices which you could temperarily put in a weapon slot to activate and then put your weapon back in.

if any of this stuff is actuallyin the game or has been talked about before sorry im a noob :P
