Station Interface
Frist of all... Props to John on that great back story... WOOT!
That aside... I think the station interface could use some enhancements now that you guys have added all this functionality... WOOT! for SOON!
My SUGGESTIONS are:
Move all human interaction controls to the bottom...
"CHAT" (all chat tabs can be moved as sub buttons)
"MISSION" (Doesnt need to change much)
"CHARINFO" (THE real charinfo screen... like out side the station in the ship /charinfo), also maybe a more intuitive charinfo controls, as i can /charinfo <username> in my ship, maybe have a list of people ither in the sector or in the bar and click thier name and see thier /charinfo screen... along those lines perhaps one could buy some kind of "caller ID block" module for there ship, so when they are in their ship i get no info, but if they dock thier info is mine... perhaps this username list could also be used as a simple way to /msg <username> private messages...
"BUDDY INFO" (thier locations and maybe even current levels, missions or status)
"GUILD INFO" (Info about the guilds your in... yes GUILDS! and guild member locations and status)
Any other human (human like bot actions) interaction one could think of...
OK now the top set of buttons/tabs could be just for ship/cargo needs
"BUY" (i think buying cargo should default to your station holds and not your ship. make items I cant buy because of low license red, and things I cant afford grey)
"SELL" (maybe this could include what is in my ship hold and have an icon marker so I know its in my ship or make the cargo apear like a "sub folder" under my ship. Doesnt have to be colapasable)
"CARGO & ROUTES" (if the above "sell" tab suggestions were implimented you could remove the sell options from this tab and make it smarter. I should be able to load or unload just 1 item of anything I have in the station or ship holds, not all or nothing. Routes could be its own tab, but my "ship" computer should record where I buy and sell cargo, and how much it was bought and sold for. Maybe even be able to click on a route and have it setup my nav computer for jump points... even give mission style details about what to buy and where to take it... If it were that easy to setup/build your own cargo mission [without getting mission credits] perhaps I can also use this "Cargo and Routes" button to create cargo mission for other players to move around my cargo for me...
"INVENTORY" (not charinfo ... you guys trying to confuse us? perhaps this could be folded into the Cargo & Routes... Cargo Inv. & Routes)
"SHIP CONFIG" (could also contain the purchase ship button also a button for weapons group/config. perhaps a paint palette so I can change/repaint the color of my ship for a price maybe different stations will offer different colors. Red only from serco, gold from NT, etc.)
"REPAIR & RELOAD" (could be combined into one tab to save space and time)
Some other tid bits... remove exsesive QUIT buttons... do I really need to be able to quit while I'm purchasing a ship? Having the purchase ship button on the common part of the menu seems exsesive... Also on the purchase ship screen could it be possible to add a "Name Ship" field accessable via charinfo (active ship) or on the targeted info HUD? It could be defaulted to the model name.
Just some fun ideas... if one stands out to any testers speak up... even make other SUGGESTIONS...

Yes please remove the quit button, i have spoken to a few ppl that also hit the quit button on accident instead of the leave station button..... Some how if your not concentrating u make that mistake easily.
"Routes could be its own tab, but my 'ship' computer should record where I buy and sell cargo"
-Maybe a general activity log that spans back for the duration of the logged in session.

If I remove the quit button, how do people quit?
I could add a verification dialog instead.

Could you not bind the escape key to bring up a dialouge window? Thats how alot of games do it, and will probably make sence to alot of players :-)

Not all of the quit buttons... just the exsesive ones... like in the ship purchase window...
a dialog window would help...

That would make sense... if your not in the station and you hit ESC the game menu opens with a quit button... perhaps you could do the same thing in the station window... or add those buttons to a tab of thier own...
GAME: (quit, options, video, etc)

Lol... I knowticed today the the ship armor and cargo capacity is under the ship colors, (on the ship puchase gui) shouldnt that be with all the other ship details in the left box?
Also on the nav menu... I was moving ships and things to a new home... when I pulled up the nav/map gui and selected one of the stations, I thought it would be nice to see what stuff I have in that station on that screen, where the bots list is, there is plenty of space for what ships I have there and what cargo/equip is in my station holds...
Lol... I'm gonna mention being able to name your ship again... I just think thats too cool!!

It could save space and time... to make repair and reload each a button and put it next to the "help" button on the ship tab.

We'll be right back to the Morbidly Wrong Suggestion thread after these important messages from our sponsers... ;)
In the Repair Rearm windows the Green is indicating the need for repair or ammo and Red is if its ok? Seems bass ackwards to me :^)
red means you cannot buy it and green means you can buy it. In that sense it's not backwards.
Red can also mean beef. I'm not sure what green means in bullion cubes ... vegetable? So beef means not available and vegetable means repair it. It's easier to keep straight this way.
Awsome Update! WOOT!
All the interface add-on/changes rock!
but in the quest of removing needless quit buttons, there is still a "quit game" on the ship purchase menu...
* EDIT * dev's are too good...
