Mostly pixel crack, but...
Here are a few ideas I believe would make this a more entertaining game. If they've been brought up before, or are already implemented, please forgive me.
1) In game news service, which will display (and perhaps play audio of) news announcements such as "Itani space attacked", or "Missing trade ships", etc... based off in-game missions or scenarios.
2) Possible to land on planets, not just at space stations.
3) Guild housing, capital ships, space stations, planets... you get the idea.
4) Hailing Frequencies... kinda. I'd like the ability to target another player and hit a key, which would prompt the other player to open a private chat directly to me. Could open seperate from the other chats, or as another tab, but would be very valuable for in-game conversations.
5) Player bounty.
6) Space billboards. Lots of space in space, don't you think someone would use it for advertising?
7) More graphically intensive menus and aspects when at the space station menu. Sorry, it just seems kinda bland.
That's all for now.

5 and 6 we used to have.
#5 could use an update, with bounty being based on faction standing in the current area...
We have a sort of #4
#3 is coming: Guild-controlled capital ships and stations (from what I've heard)
#4 is in the game (though a bit buggy). If you target a player and hit 'h' it sends a private message to him saying "hail". If he chooses to respond, it's a simple manner of opening a chat bar and hitting 'tab' to respond to you.
Bug: If you try this on a player who has a guild tag, it won't work. It will try to /msg the whole thing (for instance, [CLM]Orion_Prime) which is not a valid playername (my name is just Orion_Prime).
Easter Egg?: If you hail a bot (at least the station guards, I haven't tried a collector) he will send you back a string of binary code. I haven't converted it yet (I really stopped caring after the initial "hey cool!") but it's different everytime. It might be position data, IE if you split it into three sections and figure out what they are you might get a valid (x,y,z) of the robot in that sector.
Or, it could just be random nonsense binary just to mess with people like me.
But the point is: 'Hail' is available, but it has problems.
