Negative Pol
Hi,
today i killed an NT in NT-guarded space and now i have -1000 pol. Then i thought i kill some Artemis Collectors to push up my pol a bit again. But i only get +1 pol every 2 bots. I think, that's a bit hard. It needs a VERY long time to get it loss then. I think +2 pol every bot would be okay...
What do you think about that?
PS: Do only Artemis give just +1 pol every 2 bots or is that with every bot like that?

I agree, It's gonna be hard going to get your standing up.
I don't think it matters what bots you kill your increases will be small.
Anyone out there feel like adding to this?

I tend to think it's ok. It should be hard to convince the NT that your ok to be in their space again.
I mean you did just kill one of their citizens in a patrolled area.
It fits with the backstory, all the existing races have a multitude of reasons to be wary of their neighbors.
If you can't handle the time it takes then make sure you execute your nefarious deeds in unmonitored space next time.

I agree with Hoax, if you kill someone of your own, or friend/associates/alliance member, in monitored space, you should pay the consequences.
Personally I think -1000 pol is small change. Its like you kill a person in front of a police station, with police officers around you, they capture you, then get sentenced to life, but then the sentence reduced to 1000 hours of community service.
You want cake with that too?
[Note: to think that I left EVE because i killed someone in monitored space and then I could not even get out of the station and get podded; That is one of the many reasons I hate PvP so much]

Perhaps, though, a better system could be implemented. For Example:
You kill a Neutral ship in Neutral space. The next time a patrol finds you, it PMs to you that you are to report to a Neutral capitol station for trial and punishment ASAP. Your home station is now set to that capitol station.
Until you get there, your political status with them is something new: Judicial Prisoner. Nothing is available for purchase, and you have the uncancellable mission "Bail". You're OK to pass through their space for the purpose of arriving at the capitol world and facing trial. You can take what time you need to get there, even logging off for a while in the process but if you leave Neutral Territory before reporting for trial, you'll be considered a bail jumper and are immediately KOS -1000.
So you arrive on the station. "Bail" aborts, and you cannot undock. There is one mission available, called Trial. Take it, and you're offered some options. For example, murderers would have the following options:
-Exile. You are to leave Neutral Territory and never come back. You are KOS -1000 and automagically teleported to your own nation's closest system. Not a good eventuality, but that's essentially what happens today, minus the teleportation.
or
-Repayment. You are to forfeit 60% of your available cash at the time of the murder. 50% to the aggreived party, 10% to the nation. That's why you can't buy stuff until facing trial. Instead of KOS, your political status is set to Hate, but right on the edge, so that if you kill a bot or two, you're just Disliked, and can dock in their space. If you don't have the money (/givemoney'd away or something), this option is unavailable.
If the crime is something lesser (Assault, Piracy), the options will be different. Exile and Repayment are still available if you're dumb enough to take them, but now you can choose a third option:
-Community Service. You retain Judicial Prisoner status, and are free to tread lightly in Neutral space. You are given some huge task, like killing 300 Kannik collectors or taking 800 cargo from one system to another. Once you complete that task, you're scott free, and your political status is set to 0 (neutral).
