a few little interface niggles
Just a few tiny suggestions.. I had a look around on the board and couldn't find these mentioned (sorry if I'm repeating somebody else)..
* Login screen: after typing your username & password, the "enter" key should be able to execute the login authentication - you shouldn't need to have to go scrabbling about for the mouse, though that option should be there also for people who want it.
* Tutorial interface:
Step1- use mouse to click on text entry field,
Step2- go to keyboard and "type '1' to continue",
Step3- hit 'enter' (or should I say, 'carriage return'?!).
This procedure may have been groovy back in the 1970s, but a single mouse-click would be so much more streamlined! If you are going to require mouse usage in the tutorial, why burden the user with extra keyboard steps that add no value? (I know, I know, it's easier to program it that way.. but just a thought to consider! :)

I agree with the login screen interface to be able to enter after password without using mouse to connect it....
as for the others what you suggest to do about this?

The login screen actually activates with ;
Username :
Password: <type type >return
c
But agreed, it ought to just work on return

Hopefully I'm not being too bold, but I'd hazard a guess the current interface is merely a functional placeholder for what is really envisioned.
As many people have said it's far too clunky and awkward for a final version, but it functions wonderfully to let people test out the underlying game while they work on a better interface.

The devs have said they want to get all the features in first before polishing up the interface. Makes sense to me.
Agree - focusing on functionality while in Beta seems sensible.
As it would appear from Senji's comments that I'm not alone in finding the tutorial interface irksome, (a) I'm comforted by thinking the devs probably have a few interface plans afoot already, and (b) please accept my apologies for not digging deep enough in the boards and dragging this topic up again!

1 Enter password
2 Hit Tab
3 Hit Enter
4 Play Game
Though it could use a simple press enter and play, sure.

So, should it connect upon pressing enter after typing the password or should you have to press enter again?
connect upon pressing enter after typing password.
just like all the webmail sites and just about every other online game i've ever played. i've been suggesting this to andy for months. lol
at the login screen since it prefills the last user to play and defaults to the password box, it would be nice to type password, press enter.
