Camera lens distortion
This is a fairly ugly effect with the current camera - the sides and edges of the screen distort as though being viewed through a lens. It stretches models and dithers textures a bit. If it can be fixed, I would suggest doing so - on top of everything else, it doesn't look like normal eyesight and is a bit jarring.
I believe there's a command to change this in-game, though I can't remember what it is off the top of my head.
/set fov (number)
I think default is 200. Bigger number is more curvature. (Or it could be the other way around. I never really played around with it much.)

The developers may wish to make that a slider option in the graphics menu. I, at least, find the effect annoying.
Thanks though, guys.

No prob. If you want a real trip, set your FOV to something absurdly high.
Someone made a suggestion once to have a special "booby trap" cargo where if you pick it up it automatically fixes your FOV absurdly high so it looks like you're on acid.

Set it to 179 and you can see everything...
Take note that your field of vision settings will not stick the next time you play Vendetta. You'll need to set it every time. I personally don't like the default value either. Most games use a 90 degree FOV value, and although it'll distort it even more it'll at least offer more viewing space.
The default F.O.V. is 75. Setting it to 200 would REALLY make i t look weird.
You can set a permanent FOV in your config.ini
Roguelazer got this a bit wrong. You can reset F.O.V. in your *WGAF.CFG* file. Look for the line "set fov "75.000000". I wouldn't recommend anything over 150.
Hate to break it to you but it isn't permanent. The game defaults back to the lower value when you start it up again. I tried this before. The devs provided a reason for this and I think it won't change because of it anytime soon.
Arolte is correct. I did a couple of experiments and found that it does indeed reset back to 75. They probably did this so that fools like us who do manage to reset to to some obsuredly high number can simply exit the game and have it back to normal the next time they log on.
