Somes suggestions (Physics flight, UI, Chat, Cargo, and targeting)
AFter playing this game for a couple days I must say I love the combat aspect of it. But at the same time it is a source of things I feel can be improved.
A minor suggestion is to have a indicator that shows the vector of movement in physics flight. Granted the passing debris does this, but I feel a little indicator will do well.
My biggest concern is the UI, I think it doesn't use space efficently and doesn't promote a great amount of situational awareness.
First, The two chat windows (and even three (if there is a separate guild screen) can be condensed into a single screen so a player can keep tabs on all pertinent info. This can be done by simply dividing the current chat area and reducing the font size.
Also, I think that the current targeting scheme doesn't promote much situational awareness. Granted the blips on the range adjust their greyness regarding to distance. But that info is incomplete. If the target window can be extended, showing all targets in a certain range and the current target highlighted. (Along with some indicators whether or not you're targeted/fired at, and maybe a hull indicator as well) This gives the player more situational awareness by giving him more complete info.
Cargo, can we please be able to selectively eject certain items (if you can selectively eject, please enlighten me to the method)?
I feel that these changes can be easily made for 800x600 and above by doing some minor rearragning and making the fonts smaller to fit more info in a smaller space (being an EVE player, I'm used to small fonts and certainly haven't heard any complaints about that UI). I hope this fosters some good discussion (perhaps to clarify a hastily typed out post :p) and will lead to improvments to this game, one way or another
This is my 2 cents, thanks for extending the invite to become a beta tester.
God Bless
