Make Physics mode real physics :/
Hi again,
another suggestion from my side, is that when I'm in physics mode and use the boosters, the speed drops back to the normal speed I'm flying without boosters, why is this so?
Wouldn't that require a universe, full of matter, slowing down my ship because of friction?
Please make it as it would be in our universe, at least in physics mode ;)
Bye,
Badhor

Badhor/Meezor: This horse has been beat to death. The reasons for making it the way it is are valid. The devs want it this way for improved gameplay.

Meezor:
what relayer said, i'll add a quick summary of why for you tho.
The speed caps were added because without them the game was just boring. at 200m/s no-one ever got close to each other at all. combat was impossible.

devs (and sherpa!`) have an unreal engine that can go wayy over speed caps. (and they can tell you it isn't fun to play vendetta with it)
I'll say it again too:
"Real" physics was tried and rejected because it just wasn't fun. Combat consisted of targetting a small dot which came whizzing by at high speed, firing away and looking like a ship for a moment, and again became a dot disappearing into the horizon.
As for the slowing down, it was a gameplay decision. Why boost at all if the speed remains constant? This way a more subtle interplay of speed, energy, and weapons systems is possible.
Anyway, it has been discussed heavily, and there are no plans to change it.
