old wormhole / in system jump hole
Hello,
Please, return to use the old beautiful in-system jump hole.
It was an eye candy, but catched the new players. It impressed some friends that I showed.
The present in system jump is VERY ugly. Sadly.

Have you tried jumping between systems recently?
??I didn't know that they changed anything to do with in-system jump graphics??
If you mean everything should look like a wh, then I disagree. I *like* the in-system warp graphics. Kind of reminds me of ST:TNG.

In system jump definitely needs a "revving" sound, though.
A little bit confuses me that all ships ('bus', vulture or even heavy bomber) have the same jump-graphics. In my opinion the bus (i mean the free ship) or a small vulture should have a small/little effect while a Ragnarok or Centaur should have a much bigger effect as they have more mass / more energy; perhaps give them a cascade effect. If a ship is about to enter a sector it should be noticeable that "something big is coming". Just an idea.

I did not jump across systems. The old beutiful wormhole is there.
But the in-system jump is still UGLY.
Maybe some artist could help with an idea.

Well, the little "ripple" effect way at the end of the jump animation is a little off target, but otherwise it really doesn't look too bad. In my openion.
I like it the way it is... Except that the in-system jump's wormhole usually opens a bit astray from the ship's direction, but I imagine that the animation can only happen at set x,y,z coordinates in sector, while the ship can fly continuously in-between these coordinates.
