This is starting to sound like E&B. You can prospect roids up to 3 times and get alot of minirals out of them. Larger roids could be prospected more than 3 times.

These are all interesting ideas.
I think I'm going to have the scanner do the green laser-scan thing like doom3 has.
Scanners can only scan for one item. Scanners that scan for different mineral are all different scanners. There may be another scanner that would scan for cargo on ships.
The prospecting missions will have a higher reward.

On that note, you should have to keep bumping your ship into the roid until the minerals bounce free. Hmm... I guess a green laser could work too.
