I find talking in the channels with my bound key frustrating when there is an active conversation going on and I had most recently set my active chat mode to "channels" instation.

My suggestion comes in 2 parts:

1: make the chat mode that is selected the chat mode in the console when you leave a station. If the group button is highlighted, group chat is used through the console.

2: Add a command, /chatmode "#", where 1= Sector, 2= Channel, 3= Group, and 4= Guild. Selected mode through this command becomes the mode of chat used in the console without a preceding /say_ command.

This would make chatting much more streamlined for those of us who use the keyboard or console for everything they do.
