Right now, pressing "u" gives you a list of the players in your current sector. I propose that a similar screen should be constructed that lists the players in your current channel. Waddya think?

Also, the fact that you can be in more than one channel at once is a little confusing. Thanks to Spider(I think) for figuring this out. I say that you should only be able to SPEAK to the channel you're currently in, but you can set several other channels to listening mode.

That's the way it is now. You can only speak to the channel you joined most recently, but messages can be heard from the other channels you're in.

A simple /names to list the people in my current active channel is more than enough for me.

I wish you could use it as a "pilot locater".

The thing is, the whole idea of having channels is taken from CB radios. Trying to AOLize the chat system by slapping a userlist on everything doesn't really help create that effect of being on a radio. The sense of anonymity and insecurity is lost if everyone knows who is on what channel. It doesn't add any excitement to the gameplay.
