Add a bindable /plotcourse command which does the same thing as hitting the plotcourse button in the nav window.
Allow people to set up multiple jumps in a row, ie, an entire route. Then when they hit their plotcourse bind they just go the next step in the route (assuming they are far enough away from objects and are in the right system).

Oh, and please make the asteroids a brighter, more visible color. In the dark of space, you can't see the roids.

Or just merge activate and plot course together, since the two will never interfere each other. Station docking and system wormhole jumping both are within proximity of a large object, so they cannot be accidentally triggered with course plotting.
I would also like to be able to either bring up the nav window while looking at missions or something, or at least a system map or some indication of the distance in systems from your current point
Good point, dragos. I think an in-station nav. menu is a must for future releases. It only makes sense. If I'm a space jockey, where's the best place for me to plan my next move? In the bar or whatever. Thing is, there's already a lot of tabs in there, but I bet it could be worked out.
I have to agree with Dragos, One frustrating point is not having a map to look at while chooseing missions. A in-station map would be very helpful. Another thing I would like to see is a player list or radar view of the area the station is in so you can see if pirates are lurking about. After all you would think a station would have that capability no? Just my 2¢ worth :-)
I can see how Eldrad's second point might be difficult to implement (it would also need a cancel function), but all the suggestion here very good.

AGAINST, for an old reason. Pirates are people too.
Pirates are animals, not people.
Newsflash: humans are animals.
If such a thing were to happen, and I were a pirate, I would set up shop near system wormholes that had a lot of large objects nearby. It would then be a race to the wormhole, just like the old days.
*humming... plants a few small pirate-friendly stations here and there* pirate nation!
*sets up a group of pirates that work together, on opposite sides of system wormholes*
-->sounds like a lot more work, but it's possibly more fun =)

Sorry to bump an old thread but:
I would LOVE to be able to plot my course ahead of time and just hit the activate key to get there...
Also add my vote to the Activate-causes-jump ballot.
I had a suggestion for an auto-activate function but I changed my mind on this...

How would this suggestion effect pirates in any way?
Pilots could not make multiple jumps in a row they would still have to get 3km from everything (and hopefully spend X seconds standing still. If that feature is permanently removed there is no more non-consensual PvP).
