Some stuff on 3.5

First off I am extremely proud of all of the hard work the Defs put into 3.5, I am truly amazed. I like some of the new concepts, including new ships and the like.

Now for some stuff that would be superb.

-Global Chat (We need it now more than ever for navigational help)
-Organized Ship Database (When you go to the BuyShip screen, the ships are jumbled)
-Organized Weapons database (just like the Ships Database)

I can't think of anymore...but thank you sooooooooo much for the new universe, God Bless.

It'd be nice if the mission description for the selected mission went into the empty text box next to the listing instead of having to hit "Info" (or whatever it is)...

It'd also be cool if we didn't have to waste time with this fscking "latency" you get when talking from station. Truly the only thing I'd fix right now is to generally make communication more fluid and easier. If your going for realism no one like realism in games. They just want an easy, playable one. Right now, waiting for a minute to speak from a station, is horses***.

a minute is a tad long, however i like the chat limits in general because it will stop the flooding. hmm need to get on and test some stuff.

General Chat isn't very good. If you may have noticed after certain updates the chat has flooded with thousands of messages and it's almost impossible to read any of them.
What would be useful is the ability to use nation chat in sectors with stations once you attain a certain nation rank and/or level. Keeping with the concept that ships can't use long range chat with their smaller antannae (Or whatever kind of technology), yet also making the nation chat more usable.

I think global chat should replace the longe range team chat in stations. And limited team chat should be put back into the game as a key bind. That's my only gripe. If you can chat across a whole system (/say_system), why can't you talk to your own teammates at that range? Doesn't make any sense to me.

ok, here is what i would like to see.

Space chats

System - as it is now except change the posting limit to 1 post every 30 seconds
Team - same as system but only to teammates (1 per 20 seconds posting limit)
sector - same as it is now
General - i like it 3000m is plenty far for a shortrange com with unlimited sending per minute.
Group - still works the same as 3.4 no problems with it.

Station chats
Short range - same as "system'
Team - Same as "team" above
Long range - chat with anyone in another station (cannot be seen from space) [ 1 post per 30 seconds ]
National - chat with any team member in another station (can be seen from space but not replied to) [ 1 post per 20 seconds ]

The Long range chat delay does need to be taken down. I'm thinking something more like a 10 second delay. Other then that, I like the new chat system.

When thinking of time limits in chat, remember that our little group of testers will soon™ increase in numbers to a staggering amount of players. The sectors and systems will become more populated and you may regret what you are asking for.

I concur with RelayeR, and with buddies, it isn't so bad. I usually just create a group and chat with them \ \/ / (^.-)
