Variety
I wouldn't be surprised if the Devs have just stopped reading this board because everyone wants everything. But to keep up with modern MMORPG's, Vendetta is going to need more variety. More ships, more enemies, more configurations. People come back to games when it is different every time. Vendetta is different every time...but will people pay money each month?
Hyper, the Devs read this board when they get the time. They want to know our ideas so that they can improve Vendetta. Remember, we're testers, we have the power to influence the game by giving feedback about what we like and what we don't like.
The entire reason they set this board is so that we CAN feedback to them and propose ideas. Remember, they see Vendetta as the Devs, we see it as the players, they need us to stay around so that it's a success, for us to stay, they know they need to give us a reason to stay around, otherwise, why should we?
Also remember that the Devs are working like mad to introduce the new universe, get Vendetta ready for release and everything else right now. They are probably just too busy at the moment to really be looking through suggestions, they have a full plate right now, give them time to catchup.

Variety will be a thing of the future. But not by final release. We may get more weapons by then, but probably no new ships. This is all due to time constraints. At the very least you'll have about 7680 sectors to explore. If that's not variety then I don't know what is!
But...each one will be *basically* the same. Maybe some bots, maybe a station, a couple roids, some cargo, and a different background texture. I'm talking about variety for players to choose, not Devs to make.
Hyper, the game will have more variety in the future, however guildsoftware was almost broke in january. they had basically laid off everyone and were literally on their last month of server funds. Right now the devs are pushing the game out in a format only slightly more full of content than it is currently. With any luck, a few thoulsand people will buy the game and try it out, giving the devs enough money to take a deep breath and push on with adding all the content we just know they want to put in the game. Assuming they can tripple the number of mission types and they spread the equipment out around the new sectors more so that every weapon won't be availible in every sector. The game is actually quite playable right now. I agree that the content is a little sparse at the moment, but as apparently it's this or guild closing it's doors. I prefer this
smaller items like extra ships or another weapon are farely easy to add into the game. (not always easy to balance though) So when they get enough money to keep going I imagine that they would add many of these things. I know there are tons of things the devs have talked about doing, that their budget just does not allow the time for.
Waylon told me on the "Devs Please Read: The SDF Ships" thread that he wasn't placing any new craft into the game before release but didn't mention weapons.
I doubt though that we're getting any new weapons or craft before release because Waylon has been working hard on the new universe and probably hasn't had time to be working on getting a new ship ready for release into the game.

I really wish that Guild software would wait untill they have a more complete product before they release it. Vendetta is a game with great potential. Yet as I see it now only half that potential is realized. The graphics are O.K., but far from the remarkable type that sells games, the systems don't have a whole lot of variaty, the plot and story system is nearly non-existant, the game feels less like a real universe and just like a place to go fight, the engine still has many bugs, mostly graphicly...
The list goes on. I think vendetta is a great game, just it's not finished, and there is no way its going to be "finished" by the time it's released. Games that are released only half realized usualy get a bad name. EVE... Falcon 4... the list goes on.

You got $20,000 to loan em Skyfox? A lot can happen in 1.5 months.
Forgot to add that Skyfox you apparently never saw sectors 404 and 405. Also, the plot and story are actually pretty much done according to Incarnate.
Finally you're judging the universe as it is NOW. NOT as it will be here shortly when they release the new version of it. WHO knows what changes have been made. To bash Guildsoftware now when you KNOW that changes are coming is idiotic at best.

Skyfox, as much as I hate to admit it, a lot of testers feel the same way, and we've voiced it.
Problem is is that Guild is starting to run out of time and options so they're doing the best they can and will continue to improve the game after releasing it to the general populace. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop semi-smacking guild, they're doing they're very best which is all we have to right to ask of them. If you're going to criticize, at least make it constructive

This isn't the way we wanted to release the game. But the fact of the matter is, we're very fortunate to be releasing the game at all. As many of our testers can recall, we almost went out of business over christmas. We managed to scrounge enough capital to finish a minimal version of the game, in the hopes that we might attract enough people to be able to keep working on this product as a team. It was that, or go our seperate ways and condemn the game to the halls of vapourware.
We're still trying to make the game as cool as we possibly can in the time we have left, and there are a hell of a lot of changes that you guys haven't seen yet. I have pretty high hopes for what the game will be by release time. But, that said, I would still rather spend at least a few more months to make a more polished, fun product. But we don't have a lot of options. We have no financial backing. We're going to have to do the best we can with what we have, which is what we've done from the beginning. Four guys in a tiny office in Milwaukee creating an MMO on 1/100th of the budget of a normal game of this scale.
I'm happy to have the opportunity to launch the game at all.
