well you could get trade lvl 11 get a maud and head off to 18 to trade it in for any other nation ship.

As for minimum to dock in the stations, i think it's eather -500 or -600. I know that at -638 you can't dock, so it's higher than that. I would assume that you get cut off around -500, because it's a nice number.
