What are we supposed to be voting based on? Just the model? The stats too?
Which ship you think would best be placed ingame as is (or with SLIGHT adjustment to be determined later)
slipped down so

Vote! AARGHH!!!! /me can't stand it anymore
PS vote for me!

Yes, please vote, also please ignore the slightly disturbed contestants pitiful plea for votes. :P
Why's arolte's ship look exactly like the Arwing's in Starfox64
I've never played Starfox so I don't know what the Arwing looks like. If they look the same it's only coincidental. As the description says, it's supposed to be a strike fighter that incorporates the design and technology of the Vulture and Warthog. There's a little hint of Hornet in there too, because everyone knows it's the coolest looking ship.
=)
Now, getting back on topic, keep those votes comin'! These entries aren't going to vote for themselves...

1. Ctishman's Gladiator:
Great looking model, reasonably balanced while still providing key differences from current ships. The most important part of how it would be implemented would be exactly how fast it is. Since the agility words are really meaningless and inconsistent.
2. Skyfox's Wolverine:
Best model IMO, but a large port on a high agility ship doesn't work out well. Remember the prom pre-nerfing.
3. Mr Spuck's LCV-92:
Great visual, also provides much needed competition to the maud which is currently the only trade ship with a chance of blockade running.
Runner Up. Ciuiu's SN-105F "SuperNova":
Decent model, a bit ugly mix of yellow and grey. Nice implementation of the large slow transport ship without enough firepower/maneuverability to protect itself. Again the exact speed of the ship would determine wether or not it was balanced, it would have to be quite massive.

OK... it's yellow because it was made for NT (those 'yellow' are in 'nation' color). I can't balance it ATM because no 'big' ships are ingame ...
For sure it wouldn't have any 'turbo' or very weak one (up to 85m/s) so it just couldn't run from others

We really don't know how the ships will be in the final game and truthfully we'll never know about whether anything will be balanced unless it's put through some heavy testing (read trial and error). Realistically that's just not going to happen. It wouldn't be wise to judge based on each ship's exact specifications, but instead their design and intended role.
Basically if you'd like to have a dream ship which ship would it be? Choose what you think would be fun to have, not what you think will be a functional ship with stats which were thought of without actual testing. Balance is something that can always be tweaked later, even though none of these ships will probably slip into the game. Just have fun.

DEADLINE REACHED
I am proud to announce that in the SDF Ship Contest, Arolte emerged as the winner with his "Raven" fighter with 3 votes and 6pts.
Arolte claimed first though by a close margin with Skyfox's "Wolverine" that rallied late in the voting to a 5pt 2nd place finish.
Congradulations to Arolte AND to Skyfox, since I have decided I will endorse BOTH craft to Guildsoftware, Raven as the Judges vote, and Wolverine as the popular vote.
