Squadrons (easy hack)
For some time now people have been asking for human factions, squadrons, etc. So I was thinking, maybe a quick way to implement it would be for Vendetta to save a "squadron.txt" text file (like ignore.txt) that lists all the players you were with in your previous group. When you log back on you'll autojoin those players.
In other words you group with your squadron mates as you'd like it to be when all the members are on. And you stay in the group before you log off. The next time you log on your squadron will automatically reassemble. If no squadron mates are online you'll remain groupless until one logs on.
There may be conflicts with this with the way missions currently work, but there could be ways around it. For example if you're in the middle of a mission (whether it be group combat or trade) and a squadron member logs on, you'll get a mission computer message asking if you'd like to continue with the mission or start the squadron.
If the player decides to continue, the mission will continue until it ends... and then it will automatically create the squadron. If you decide to assemble with the squadron during your mission, it'll simply abort it and toss you into your squadron. If the player neglects to respond, it will be assumed that they'd like to continue their mission. Simple, no?
