scores based on accuracy of fire
What about instead of giving flat scores for training missions, make client calculate the # of shots made during mission, the # of hits, and make total bonus to be equal the ratio of hits/shots times, say, 1000. Then split total bonus between the light weapon skill and heavy weapon skill depending on number of shots made with small or large weapon.
This way if, for example, you use S weapon only, and kill five bots, and your fire is very accurate, your hits/shots ratio is close to 1, you'll have +1000 super bonus for light weapon skill. And if you make 1 hit in 100 shots, then your hits/shots ratio is just 0.01, and you'll have only +10 skill increase, then go and train some more.
This will allow to progress faster, if your actual skills inrease.

This makes people who use phased blasters automatically have less score than people who use Gauss, even though an effective tachyon user is arguably much more skilled than a Gauss user.
Oh yes, for using auto-targeting or weapon with big splash radius, decrease bonus by 30%. :)
Or may be it will be fine to leave everything as it is, having Gauss suppose to mean being an advance pilot, isn't it? You should complete a lot of training before you have it.

I'd rather they just get rid of score altogether.
Well.. if you use gauss that mean you have lvl11 light weapon and about 150k to go to lvl12... If you use phased you muse earn less.. :)
Me likes that idea
You could earn some basic points in each category for completing a mission + that bonus for your accuary

I agree with Magus. Score is bad. Besides, Vendetta doesn't exactly have the best support for aiming precisely with the mouse. The wobble of most ships ruins your ability to become a l33t 3D FPS sharpshooter with m4d 5k1llz. Essentially the only people that will have high accuracy with unguided weapons are Valk and Vulture jocks. Everyone else will suffer with the wobble of doom and the necessity to use high autoaim weapons like the AGT.
The wobble of the _mouse_ is bad. Joystick and or keyboard does not suffer this..
Ehm.. take for example a cent who is available from lvl1 combat..
besides it's all about getting xp from your accuary! If 90% of your shots hit the sky you won't get any bonus.. but if for example your accuary is more than 80% you will get a double bonus or something.. nd belive me if you fight widh droneI or drone II it IS possible..
And please don't compare lvl1 noob with lvl9 vult-jock

This would be great if they turned off autoaim.
But that would make the game much, much, much harder for anyone using a mouse. Which is most of the testers right now. Plus, when you start to fight bots like the higher Assaults which dodge pretty well, you would stop getting XP at a time in your character's life when you need a ton of it to advance.

I agree score is a bad idea in general and wouldn't work at all as described.
I'd be damn impressed if someone could hit a skilled player in a good ship 20% of the time.
I'd also be impressed if someone COULDN'T hit a defender 95-100% of the time.

If this came to be, Drone I's would give you more xp than Assault III's. That's just wrong, man.
nah... Assault III's have less hull, you kill them faster; two shots, they're dead.
I'm not sure how this is going to work, but if it's "for each bot you kill, you get xp bonus based on accuracy", then AIII's are going to be -extremely- profitable.

I can hit a Drone II with every shot I fire. 100% accuracy. AIII's are quite good at dodging, so there'd be less than 100% accuracy. Da.
/me wonders if enybody understand that idea as I do...
on lvl10 group combat mission you get 950/850/850/0 per round
with accuary scored mission you WOULD get base score plus additional points for accuary.
It wouldn't be for killing a single A3 or players.. it's just for missions!
for example: Joe i botting with friends.. he is killing A2 and has accuary of 50% (50% of what he has fired hit the target)
so his poionts AFTER the round would be:
900 ( score for killed bots )
850 score for completed list
425 score for accuary (850 * 0.50)
Well.. it doesn't affect amount of recived Xp.. (althought the suggestion to make it more important are welcomed)

THERE IS NO MORE SCORE!!! Please use the correct terminology. Your usage of the word score has finally annoyed me enough. a1k0n said it's going going gone. There's no way to get it in this release. The only people that have it got it in 3.4.x. Not long from now, they'll update the ranking page to go by something else. So there is no more score, nor, unless something changes, shall there be!
