All or Nothing
Right now energy weapons fire asymmetrically (through one port) if you run out of energy and have just enough to spit out one shot at delayed intervals. I know this has been around since 3.2 was first released. Would it at all be possible to somehow change it (or give the player the option) so that your grouped energy weapons would wait until it has enough energy to fire them all again? I just don't like the way it looks when it's shooting from only the left S-port or whatever. I'd rather wait for my weapons to allow for a second or two to pack a strong punch again.
Well.. the easiest way to achieve what you are talking about is to.. release fire :)
Actually, it doesn't Arolte. I was playing with my wraith and I had dual phased grouped together. When the power ran out, it "chain-linked" them, firing left then right then left ad infinitum. Maybe it's just the Wraith? I dunno, but it doesn't fire asymmetricaly anymore.

I know for a fact it doesn't work on the Vulture with dual tachyons. It does interchange for phased blasters, but there's something about tachyons that makes it fire only on the left s-port. So yeah, it probably varies with the type of ship, battery, and weapon. In any case I'm not too crazy about it. I'd rather see an all or nothing fire feature. There's a reason why those weapons are grouped. I want 'em to stay that way.
Well it happens with gravs too and thats why:
you have 0 energy after some shooting, you keep fire presed, and some enegry are produced: the weapons with high energy consumption (gravs and taych) are able to "reload" before the energy is produced, so when battery gathers enought energy to fire (12 or 18) the first one just fire brining you back to 0.
With phased on the other hand: they don't have enough time to "reload", so if you have anought energy the other one (ready to fire) shoots energy. And so on ...

I've got a work-around for you Arolte...let go of the fire button for 0.5 seconds!!!

I guess this suggestion goes along with the idea of making engines/batteries better with an economic mode. It's not absolutely 100% necessary, but it would make Vendetta much much better. Just IMO.

Blue Lasers from 3.0.x and 3.1.x did that. I miss my Blue Lasers and level 2 rockets.
