License exam
Hi.. I have been thinking about my exams lately and.. wondering why not implement that in vendetta as well :)
When you are about to level up in sth you pay mony for license and imidiatly achive it.. now. You should pay for being tested :)
The exam on the first level shouldn't be too dificult (kill twice as much drones or kill few harder bots). While on the last (12th) task shoul be something around: go to s18 and kill 10 bots each type without being killed, timeframe: 2h.
Trading license would be something simillar. Long 2 - 8 station route around whole universe without perrmission of being killed (it automaticly cancel's mission)

You already need to pass those kinds of tests: you need XP.
What would be better would be an actual question/answer test, ie:
what is the rate of fire of X?
how many cargo holds does X have?
... And I think thats the plan.. When the exams were implemented, the note said they were "currently trivial"... Which means that at some point they won't be.

I think we shouldn't do anything near this. How it is makes a whole lot of sense. (Personally, I suck, so I have to like it) Pilots have to kill tons of bots to level up in combat, and trading takes hours sometimes. We don't need to do all of that work and then not get our license.
Waylon has already said there will be tests to pass.
haha. so leveling up would be less time consuming... and based on skill.
of course, it takes skill to kill 100 sentries without docking (like our current missions), but what you suggested sounds quite nice and short.
Say the license test for level 7 combat is to go to s18 and kill 25 bots within an hour. A player who can achieve this will automatically be brought up to level 7 combat because he/she meets the skill requirements (no need to kill 1900 bots). Of course, a player who wants to go to level 7 combat by killing Defender/Assault II bots won't do it in a stock bus, so leveling still takes a while... have to cover a few early levels to get the proper weapons.

In that way there should be two ways. The short one and difficult (go kill 20 bots in s18), and a long and easy one (go kill 34624125 drone II bots :>)
