Remove Repair for Other Specials?
This was an interesting bug that cropped up briefly today, before a1k0n fixed it. It prevented other nations from repairing pirate (read: bought in 18) specials in any sector other than 18. If you were blue, you could repair in 1, 4, and 18. If you were red, you could only repair a valk in 18. This would pretty much require pilots to either be extremely careful, or to use another ship.

Well, I was in a prom when it happened and I too had to repair inside the home sectors.
Perhaps it would make things a bit more interesting, however not with the current balance of the game. I fear it'd simply turn into another griefers-are-us from the blues.

How about a sort of compromise. All special ships can only be repaired in that persons first home sector (1,2,3) The only way it would work for the Itani is if you fight in 8 or 7. Any other sector and it would work for the other nations.

OK, I like silentsuicide's compromise. It makes sense. Your CO might even pat you on the back if somehow you stole an enemy ship and made it out alive.
Remove the ability to repair specials outside of national sectors and sectors of "advanced technical expertise" (18).
Perhaps the red and blue valks fighting in 11 would bother to fight to the death instead of flying three sectors away to repair.

Valks are anyway too powerful, their speed should be slowere to fast or some HP take away. Compare them to other ships...

DAMMIT PEOPLE this isn't about ship balancing--that is another issue! This is about removing the option to repair your nation ship outside of a nation sector.

Actually I think that when nations are able to have controlling influence over a sector, you should be able to repair a special in those sectors too. IE, Itani controls 1,4,7,8,14, and the racing sectors. Serco control 2,12,5,13,9,16. NT control 3,6,10,11,15,17,18. Repairs of special ships that can be built by your own nation can be repaired in any of your nation's listed sectors, but only bought in 1-4,6,12 respecively, along with 18, where you can repair specials of other nations. If you are serco, you cannot repair a valkyrie in sc7.

Perhaps repairing specials should cost extra?
well considering repairs cost nothing right now.... :P
