gun zeroing in 3rd person improved mode (and controller accel support)

hi, so i played around a bit with 3rd person improved when i came back to the game and found it really good overall. very fun too be able to look at your ship while shooting, and functional too. however, when i learned about fighting with auto-aim off, i noticed a fatal flaw with it. the guns/crosshairs are zeroed in at infinity, which looks nice, admittedly, but at around 300m or lower the disparity starts to become noticeable and the guns converge *under* the crosshairs, getting worse and worse at closer ranges. i found this even actually applied to auto-aim, it just wasn't noticeable at first due to auto-aim doing its thing. you can try this yourself, auto-aim lights up a bit below the cross-hair, but not a bit above, at close ranges.

this creates a "virtual projectile falloff" effect, even though in reality there is no projectile falloff of course, and it's all a problem of the perspective used. i realize this is a problem with no one size fits all solution, so what i suggest is a new option in the settings for "Crosshair zero distance in third person" that can be set to a desired sensible distance that the user wants their projectiles to coincide with the crosshair. this way, even though the virtual falloff cannot be avoided, it could be managed and reduced properly.

also idk if it's proper but since i'm already making a post, i may as well suggest that accelerometer/gyro (whatever it's called) support for controllers that have it would be nice, even if not for turn/pitch correction, just for stuff already possible on android, such as tilt to rotate/throttle. if this part needs a separate thread i'll gladly make one, just thought i shouldn't clutter the forums. it's just hard to have to have rotate on face buttons while trying to shoot :D

thanks all,

We push people to only post one idea per thread, otherwise it's harder to track them. Also, the debates on multiple controversial ideas in a single thread becomes an unreadable mess.

Anyway, we'll take a look at the crosshair thing.

alright, that's noted for the future. in that case i would like the discussion here if there's gonna be any to focus on the crosshair suggestion. thanks btw for considering it! :D
