Make M# keys on mobile character specific, not device specific

I know this probably isn't an easy thing, but I'll throw it out there anyway. Currently on mobile devices using the ingame keyboard you can save commands and such to the macro/M# keys up top. The problem is that these keys' commands are saved on your device across all characters and accounts you use on that device. When you switch characters they must use the same commands (unless you constantly change them). Is there anyway to get those M# keys to be saved on a per character basis instead of across the device?

Example: Ren Aar has a capship and uses a few of those keys for capship related commands. Ren Yarr does not have a capship, and could use those keys for something else like a hail, or viewtoggle instead.

As always, thank you Inc and Ray for all the hard work you do to make this an amazing game!
Prost!

Hmm, probably. However, I'm always a bit reluctant to change defaults that a bunch of other people make be used to. So, I'd be more inclined to add some kind of checkbox that makes it per-character?

We would also add this generically, it would not be mobile-specific. Although our custom keyboard is much more likely to appear on what's considered "mobile".

There may also be some refactoring in how the data is stored to make it work that way. But, it's probably feasible. No promises on timing, but we'll take a look.

Thanks for the reply, Inc! I think a checkbox option to enable would be a perfect option if you got around to it. Appreciate your time!

This should be released this evening, in 1.8.770:

- Added an option to save virtual keyboard macros per-character instead of globally. The setting is located in Options -> Advanced -> Interface and is labeled "Save virtual keyboard macros per character".

Love the implementation of this! Enabling saves the original config initially so you dont have to retype the ones you want to keep across your characters, but still allows you to change the ones you want per char. This is amazing!
Thank you soo much!
