what? furries hard? I can get there in an unarmed bus if I'm a bit lucky! shame on you :P
ooo yea the old tri-squad furies, kill the leader and he doesn't call anymore silly wingmen out to kill you.
oh btw NO leave the furies there. If you cant get by them, you dont have any reason to be in 18 anyhow since all you are gonna do is loose whatever ship you buy there.

Wow, Trigger, verey constructive posts here. First you just write "..." then you tell everyone to ignore what a user is saying because of his age.

I say go back to the wings of furies. Getting to 18 should be very tough, not something a loan player should be able to accomplish.

I want a fleet of cap ships with a wing of furies each guarding that gate.
Ahem suicidal,
read the text again please, I clearly stated this :
Do the same for the marauder and the prom. Also justifiable since they are by far better then the atlas and the wraith, their respectable little brother.
So that means that you can only get a special ship of any kind in this fashion. To get a ship from the other nation you either need to kill such a ship or need to organise a cap, in which youll get awarded 5 other nations constructionkits. I only used the valk as an example of the way it could be done.
PS arolte: My idea added the cappingeffort as something usefull, in stead of money, you can have this advantage to be able to procur a marauder or a prom. So to get a valk, neutrals need to kill one or cap itani. To get a prom, neutrals need to kill a prom or cap them. I know that the itanis are going to get capped like hell, but anyways it could be fun :D. And no I didnt rip this idea from anybody, I was just tired of seeing these complaints aboutt he special ships and gave htem an example of how it could be solved in the future, when the devs have some spare time.
cheers

Trigger, I really don't give a sh*t about his age. He could be 5, or he could be 35, for all I care. I respect a 5 year old who uses correct grammar and spelling, and has well-founded ideas/posts, significantly more than a 35 year old who posts like zoid. If he doesn't know what he's talking about, then he shouldn't be posting.
Vix, the devs have said that the bots will be less uber once they get the AI to stop sucking. That's not their top priority (I believe), though.
Now, why the hell am I still under "people who agree"? I've stated that I'm against it...

I've played alot of games over my years. One of the most commonly infuriating illistrations of game developer's (no offense intended here but just in general you understand) utter lack of imagination is the old stand-by "put more enemies in".
Those of you who have played games like Goldeneye probably know what I'm talking about here. Alarm goes off, enemies come out every nook and cranny and start attack. Problem with this idea is it lacks rational sense. I have search every nook and cranny and found no such enemies in them yet, whenever an alarm is triggered I am surrounded by an army of suddenly visible enemies (I actually got bored after failing a mission once and just went on a killing rampage in the underground section, killed over 300 before I was dead, um.... why didn't I see them before...?).
How this relates is rather simple. Furies or not, there should be a justification for any combat unit in the area. Failing to do so results in constant and never ending battles with enemies that just keep coming. Eventually the problem "so-and-so is getting all these great ships" is solved when the enemy becomes tougher, then the problem becomes redundant as ways of fighting/eluding the enemy become known and we are again faced with "so-and-so is getting all these great ships".
The answer is not making more or tougher "gate-keepers" but, rather make more and more reason to visit other areas. Enhance other sectors with a more diverse selection of both cargo and equipment. Instead of having "uber" ships, divide attributes up among even more ships so that there is more variaty.
Though I suspect the Dev team here is already hard at work on many of the the details previously mentioned (at least from what I could gather from my brief interaction with a1 last night), so my suggestion here is this: wait. Those of you who love (or at least prefer) furies over non-furied guardians, I wouldn't sell the farm on them yet. Those of you who dispise all that is fury, don't count on them being a constant.
I realize that is was a rather lengthy reply and amounted to much of nothing but I feel that some relation was needed to understand the "why" of the last post.

I do not agree.
i sign *against*.
if you can't get to s18, learn how to. everyone has to (learn it), and it replaces a bit the skills system (to a very limited extent, but still).

Hint: The bots consciously AVOID cargo.
Hint: Those doughnut roids sure do look awfully small...

WARNING: if you move away from cargo, the bots come back after you.

No, I like those bots in 17. It gives me a way to rack up points and such. I don't understand why people are calling them 'easy' though...with a tri-gauss valk I can take on like 4 bots at once, but they take FOREVER to kill. This is while holding down Q and F, though. I don't know any other evading strategies. Maybe I really should look into getting better with flares. It just seems so wasteful, though...

Turbo through the doughnut roid and drop cargo, it gives you some time while the bots figure out how to get around.
The bots are easy to rail.

i dont agree... s18 is supposed to be a challenge to get to. like capping a flag, caps have gotten very high, much higher than i truely wanted.
if anything i think s14 should have bots because the sector is hidden and has good trade capabilities.
s16 doesnt need 350c bots, just more of a challenge on the frigate, which shouldnt be a high priority to the devs, but yes i would like to see the frigate improved upon. if the frigate was going to stay in the final version (i have yet to hear about this either) i would like to see the probability of killing it stacked against players.
capping isnt, or so i have heard, going to be included in the final game so improving the capping odds against players would be pointless.
