HAC capacity
Just played "Starship Defense," one of Phaserlight's events, and one player remained docked in the HAC the entire time, which prevented anyone else from docking to repair/reload. This led to great frustration.
Seems silly that a Heavy Assault Cruiser can only dock one player - can we bump that up to like, 8?

+1 At this point if you dont bring at least one player owned capship to the event for reps then pretty much dont plan on RR (no mattrer how much you tell people to get out of the HAC.. Then you spend more time trying to keep your cap alive than fighting because it'll get mobbed.
In addition to this perhaps the UIT Tridents should allow you to dock and rep also. That would help with the problem also.

Well, it is a "Cruiser" and not a "Carrier". This is what a Cruiser looks like, in Naval parlance:

Or, more recently:

They mostly have lots of guns and weapons and things, and not like.. hangars full of fighters or whatever. They're essentially "small battleships".
But, anyway, I don't have a problem with expanding the capacity of the HAC, or whatever else, to make things more fun for these Events.
If it's a problem to do so generically, we can also create specialty versions that are only spawned by Guides during Events.
So, anyway: Noted, I'll see what I can do.

NPC capship IFF could really use fixing that said it's only a problem during events.
NPC iff is not the subject of this thread. This is about capacity.

I mean, comparing spaceships to naval vessels is also silly. That, and the fact that tridents (the very smallest of capships) have capacity for multiple ships docking. Functionally a HAC should provide multiple docking, ideally up to the amount of controllable turrets.

I mean, the naming conventions have to come from somewhere..?
I don't know why it's "silly" that some ships might have different purposes. There's a limited volume of internal space within a ship hull; if one assumes equipment for firepower is a trade-off versus having a large hangar bay, then there would necessarily be different ships for different roles.
The fact that that has held true on every aquatic ship in history is not likely to be much different once you put them in space.

Tridents are freighters that are adapted to a variety of purposes. They're intended to be flexible.
I mean, the counterpoint is the Teradon, which has no docking bay at all?

I already said I was fine with expanding the HAC hangar capacity. You're mostly arguing that your head-canon is different from my head-canon.
