Change Guild System
The current guild system favours the older players who have more connections, and disfavours new players, who might not even know that guilds exist in the first place. Right now, guilds are barely mentioned in the UI and the menus (and even then there's practically no information in the Guild menu), with the only noticeable indication being the [ ] brackets in front of player names.
New players would be unsure of where to find information on guilds, and they don't know who to ask, so they can only find information about guilds by asking in the chat, which is kinda inefficient, and players might just give up and not do it. And even if they know that guilds exist, new players wouldn't know how to join them, and currently players can only be admitted into guilds by waiting for a guild member to come online (which they wouldn't know unless those guild members start talking in the chat), and then directly asking them if they can join, which is also very inefficient and too much trouble for new players to do.
By changing the guild system to something a bit more like that of many other games, there can be a dedicated menu just for guilds, and it'll list down the current guilds out there, with an option to apply for it. Any other features like minimum requirements, member lists or guild descriptions are secondary, because the main point is for new players to know and understand that guilds are out there, what are the current guilds (like ONE, TGFT, TRI, etc), and that they have a way to join these guilds. This'll help make guilds a more integral part of the game and not just some hidden communities for old and pro players to be in. This will also improve new player experience, because they can join these guilds and receive help, support and a dedicated community.

Thanks for writing up the Suggestion. I think I fundamentally agree with your goals, and you can find my own on the Request For Comments thread "Guild Recruitment and Future Player Influx".
Like many of the RFCs, the idea is usually raised long before implementation (some longer than others), but the main blocker of this is the on-going development of the game's updated user interface. But, we are working on this.
I think, in practice, the current guild system does not "disadvantage" new players as much as you might believe. But, I definitely think that calling more direct attention to the guilds, within the game's interface, and helping them to recruit new players and engage new community members, would be beneficial to the game.
