A new Manufacturing Mission
Incarnate,
I believe you Dev’s are always busy, and probably understaffed to. I understand that you have your priorities of things to do for this game that we love some much. In spite of that I wish to temp you into producing a new manufacturing project.
If you were to release a new, big manufacturing mission, (perhaps a new Trident type, or a Constellation, even a small Station), then I would be incredibly happy to pay a larger annual subscription fee TO BE ABLE TO HAVE ACCESS IT. To be clear I am suggesting YOU make a new manu mission, WE the game playing public of VO pay you more to have access to it.
My current annual subscription cost is $88.99USD. In my humble opinion you could multiply the $89.99 by 1.5, ($133.48), for access to this proposed “new build” and then charge me 133.48 annually to keep access to it, and I would not have a problem with that. I think others would be willing to do this too.
This idea of paying more for something extra in VO is not new, currently a player may pay extra to get a livery package for their capitol ships. (I did for my capitol ships, and I love the looks of them both!)
I also think many former players would return for an opportunity to build something new. Perhaps some veteran pirates may even return to prevent the building of something new, which possibly could increase the active player base exponentially.
Also, and without adding a new manufacturing mission, if you need to raise the subscription rate to keep up with inflation I would understand your need and would agree to $99.99 annually with everything staying as it is. I am by no means wealthy, but I do understand economics and I want VO to always be here. Vendetta Online should be profitable to you, the developers, not just a labor of love.
(Yes, therefore I would go as far as $150.00USD for a 1-year sub with access to a new manufacturing mission or to keep flying a new manufactured ship/station).
Sincerely,
Galactica Actual

I'm not against more manufacturing or even more challenging manufacturing. However, I don't think this is the right time to add new content when, as I understand it, the plan is to have more trident variants, larger capital ships, and player-owned stations. Additional content should be needed for the game universe in its current state rather than thrown in.
Speaking only for myself, I check the forums relatively often to monitor the game's progress. I'm looking for something to entice me to re-subscribe. While I don't care for some of Incarnate's goals, the vast majority of his goals are what I'm waiting to try out and why I'm still around. It is also what would entice me to pay a higher subscription fee.
Of course, offer up player-owned Teradons(un-nerfed), and I'm all in.

So, just to distill down what you're suggesting, I think you basically mean that we would..
- Add more manufacturable content.
- Raise the subscription rate.
- Require a subscription to have access to the new content.
Or, maybe you're proposing an additional "high-end" subscription tier, that is $133/year instead of $89/year, which gives additional content?
Or some combination of those things?
Either way, I do know people would like new content to build. I didn't expect some of the projects to take as long as they have (anti-cheat and some other things), but we are working on other things as well.
I've been a little leery of pushing new major-manufacturing content until the new economy was in wider usage and further stabilized, and that was back-burnered by the huge anti-cheat project. There's also the new mining mechanics, which will similarly impact balance of any future Manufacturing goal.
But, regardless of game-monetization pricing strategies, I can see what I can do to get some kind of new Manufacturable content goal together.. or at least try to prioritize that a bit higher.
The challenge with adding something new, which is time consuming and challenging to build, is also giving it relevance sufficient to offset the player's investment of time. Sometimes that really requires wholly new game-systems (like your suggestion of "a small station") that are pretty major undertakings on their own. In other words, adding another capship variant that has some mild tweaks to existing stats is not that big of a deal, but adding stations or any fundamentally new mechanics might be like six months. It really varies widely and depends on what's going on.
(EDIT: Death Fluffy posted right before I did, but as he stated: Additional content should be needed for the game universe in its current state rather than thrown in. I also fundamentally agree with that. That's part of the challenge of trying to balance the "desire to make stuff" versus the "relevance of the stuff available to make").
Anyway.. I will see what I can do (no specific promises, one way or the other, just that I'll try to look into it).
In the meantime, if people have explicit wishlist items around manufacturable goals, those are welcome (in separate, individual Suggestions threads). Don't stress too much over the idea of whether you think it would be "easy" for us or not, players are bad at predicting that.. sometimes the "looks-hard" things are easy and the "looks-easy" things are incredibly difficult. So, just post Suggestions on new manufacturable content and let us consider the ideas.

I thank you all.

Yes, I was proposing an additional "high-end" subscription tier, that is $133/year instead of $89/year, which gives additional manufacturing content.
Of course, raising the sub amount is up to you, I was trying to suggest that players may be open to paying more to get more.
