so, actual use case.. i login and am presented with this massive wall of text, which doesnt include the online guild members after which i "/guild list".. to see the wall of text again with the users appended.. two pages of data printed just to see my short string of whos online.

the motd i would think doesnt change a whole lot for most guilds, may be we dont need to see it every single login (or at all for that matter)

perhaps viewing the users would be separate from printing the motd entirely. ie, /guild list actually just prints the users and /motd prints the motd or /guild motd and /guild setmotd, or.. anything.

why can't the active users just be listed before the MOTD, perhaps. I don't really see a way for the MOTD to be displayed in any other way, but that's just me.
