I know that any bot drop was removed from turret kills, but why should kills from a cappie's large port suffer the same consequence? Like... can't you make it so that any bot hit with a turret gets a certain flag that makes it not drop anything valuable upon destruction, even if its killed with a regular weapon afterwards? That would prevent people from automating things and taking advantage of mechanics.
We "can" technically do pretty much anything. But, I guess, what is the point?
The idea was and is to change and escalate bot behaviour when being excessively destroyed by capships. We haven't had a chance to implement that yet, but I still think that's the correct solution.
I don't really want to burn time doing some change that I'm just going to replace later?
I mean, that could waste many hours of development that would be better spent implementing something that is intended to be permanent.

I see. When you say escalation, are you willing to go into more details? Is it like having the entire sector agro on someone when a turret manned by another player damages a bot? Or are we looking at behavior similar to the unknown sector?
I don't think detail is that important? Detail usually gets tuned based on reactive testing.
The point is just that, instead of simply having the bots "no-drop on capship attacks" we can instead make the process, perhaps beyond a certain point, objectively dangerous to the capship. That will definitely cause the owner to re-evaluate using capships to attack and farm bots.
I can basically achieve that many, many different ways, which is why the details aren't that critical.

What are your favorites of the many different ways.
