ideas for modifying the chat system
biggest thing I want to see change what the chat system is where you automatically go when you invoke active Channel this should be the one you selected in your PDA screen not just Channel chat. so many times has there been a wrong chat issue because of how the game handles you pressing the spacebar or invoking the chat from your touch screen because it always goes to the general chat. in this case by having it go to the PDA screen selected chat IE Guild Channel group sector system and staying on that when you're invoke the chat in flight you can continue chatting without having to type a command every time you want to chat to a different Channel than default. the game remembers where you were on on the PDA screen but does not carry it over to the flight screen I would like to see the same settings on the PDA screen carried over to the flight screen.
That unorganised text block is basically this:
In the PDA the user can select a toggle that defines where they are chatting to (sector, guild, etc); please apply this setting to the in-flight chat as well.
My take:
Yes please. For PC pilots its not much of an issue, since the chat commands are bound to specific keys, but mobile pilots don't have this, and they have a limited number of macros to use besides. You first have to instrhct these newer pilots in the command, and then they sometimes just find the process tedious anyways, or decide to chat less.
Personally, my 'preferred' chat system is out of scope for the developers, but i'd want a full set of toggles or tab-style buttons created for each channel the user is in, which likewise applies to the flight chat; as well as the chat being constructed of a list object; if you double-press on a specific chat element, then you can select buddy/ignore/report/etc from a menu right in the chat itself. But... like I said, out of scope, i'll make a plugin do this eventually instead.

that would be awesome what about those who can't use plugins
What if the chat window were treated like one of the bottom buttons where long-pressing it gives the option to change its function?
+1 to draugath's option
