There are cases when mods need to be pinged to take action which is mostly due to spam. A mod role can be used to notify the moderators instead of mentioning them one by one.

Or just let us do @guide to ping all guides at once. It's same thing

We do have guide roles already. So the suggestion is to be able to ping that role. Typically it would be either me or Luxen responding.

Is the thought that pinging @guide be faster or easier to use?

The thought is that instead of trying to ping everyone individually when there is a spammer/scammer/whatever else, we can ping @guides and everyone gets notified.
