Corvus Cube
Why this is needed:
In the past there has been discussion about new players having issues getting camped in Corvus stations because they homed in these stations. The player base will (if asked in channel 1 or 100) tell these camped players to purchase a Centurion to make a break for it. If no one replies to the camped individual, that player is at a loss of how to escape.
Proposal: Corvus should offer a low cost, low mass, poorly maneuverable ship with only one purpose: High velocity in a straight line.
This ship will have zero weapons, zero cargo space, and will only be purchasable until a license level reaches 3 or 4. There will be some kind of flashy arrow pointing to it the first time the player enters the buy menu for ships. The back of the ship will have a positive message on it or a silly emote. Effectively, this would be a station escape pod.
Example stats:
Name: Cube
Faction: Corvus
Armor: 500
Cargo: 0
Weapons: ---
Mass: 3000
Length: 5m
Thrust: 100N
Turbo Thrust:450N
Max Speed: 10 m/s
Turbo Speed: 225 m/s
Turbo Energy: 38/s
Spin Torque: 3 Nm
Issues: Something with wicked acceleration might be tempting to race in , so with less than bad thrust and velocity, this ship would have a poor race.
Other thoughts: This is just one idea on how to help out new players in a bad situation. The name, of course, is designed to be humorous, which may break the tension in a stressful new situation. Example comms: "How do I get away from the evil pirate person?" Everyone in 100: Use the Corvus Cube!"

Just bar it from racing like the hound
Automatic re-home is a more elegant solution unless we can get this one with some xithricite trim and random pipe/conduit options out of the spaceboat factory.
Same idea but less borg would be the ec-100 or something.
Should only be available at "select" locations.

Can you elaborate on why the thrust is only 100N? This doesn't make sense to me.
I believe that's to limit tube race usage; the pilot is expected to go back to their nation space, NOT to use it as a highly manueverable vessel. For the sole purpose of getting home, it shouldn't need a high non-turbo thrust.
...though i agree more with spidey, personally.

+1 to this or also the rehome idea.
They shouldn't be in grey that early anyway, but until there is a hard restriction on new playera then this should stop the "I'm getting camped" griping. The mechanic is already there with the transporter funtionality the military mission uses. Take mission when getting camped and send em back to Dau L10, Sol2 or Itan, based on faction, but only available until combat 3. Once that greyspace danger banner goes away, so does the ability to take mission.

-1 to lord spidey... this would reduce player interaction and I don't camp players. The players chose their *home*.
-1 to the cube... just lol, but not worth the development time. Just grab a hog mk2 with fast charge... I would +1 hog mk2 and fast charge being available at corvus. Jus tthe ship and the cell
+1 to not doing stupid stuff early in game and repeating it and /me logs on to meet this players camped in corvus and help them out!

i patrolled the corvus stations tonight and didn't see anyone. I don't think this is an issue we need to concern the devs about.
