I'd just like to point out that since you've changed the pcb to be the second stage of the charged cannon color, that it also changed the size of the plasma ball to I guess the second stage of the charged cannon (which from my understanding increases the size of the 'ball' as it's charges increase). With the increased size of the ball it makes it really hard to see actual damaging blasters behind/with it. I don't know if this was intentional, but it seems really beneficial to use it on lighter ships in 1v1's a as it hides the damaging blaster, which from what I understand wasn't the intention.
If you could keep it the same color, but reduce the size to the other energy blasters then I think it would be in a good spot.

I like it, no touch!

I cannot, at least not on-the-fly; the effect is what it is. I have to patch the client in order to add in new visual effects.
I could switch it to the Gatling Mk2 bright-blue shot, as tjgaming suggested?

It's well differentiated as is I'd like it to keep the charged cannon effect.
Okay. I just don't want to be creating "new problems" due to:
With the increased size of the ball it makes it really hard to see actual damaging blasters behind/with it.
That sounds kind of problematic for combat?

i'd be happy if it went back to what it was... is that a consideration? why please whiners?
Because it makes sense for it to look different? This isn't a "whining" thing, this is just a reasonable design goal for it being a completely different type of weapon, effectively the only one of its kind. Lack of visual disparity has been part of the problem.
And, frankly, what possible justification could you have for "putting it back the way it was" except to better cloak your PCB amongst other weapons?

I think it should be changed back because nothing in the OP asked for a shot color change.
Been covered in other threads though.

I mean, I just recently linked to Luxen's post, which was written as a response to you, Greenwall.
I also linked to the concept of coloring it in one of my earliest responses on this thread, and I've mentioned it in other successive posts on here.
So, it was previously requested as a change, it's been pretty widely supported, and I've mentioned and referenced and linked it a number of times in this discussion.
As I wrote last night, from a design standpoint it makes perfect sense that it would be visually differentiated, since it's a completely different type of weapon.
It definitely bears on the related issues around the PCB. So, other than being pointlessly pedantic, do you have an actual point, Greenwall?

I don't think it hides the shots as much as I originally did.
I actually quite like it with its current shot appearance. The particle effect makes it easy to tell when a PCB shot specifically lands (good for the shooter) and the large, unique shot color/size makes it easy to see that a PCB is being shot in the first place (good for the shootee).
Time will tell if the lower AA will make it less of an obnoxious factor in small ship fights. I imagine it could stand to be lowered a bit more but we haven't seen how it is in its current iteration.

Guilty as charged, but I liked that. I'll give the new set up a try and I'm sure I'll be happy with it.
