Reload indicator for weapons
This would be especially useful with slow-firing weapons, like railguns, some missiles, rockets etc.
Capital weapons are most affected by this, like capital swarms/caprails with their long firing delay. It could be useful even when controlling an npc turret, because you would not have to spam the firing button just to see when it fires.
This can be done either by an animation on the HUD addon indicators, or like how mining beams display their cycle under the distance bar.
The more weapons you have, the more it would show, in different colors, like how addon indicators are colored.
This could be added to ever weapon, if doable.

Maybe something as simple as a red bar that goes from full to empty (reverse or not) of the mining beam one. Id imagine it could use elements that already exist in the ui then.

We already have the weapon icons on the HUD, in a left-side pane. Maybe it could black out a weapon's icon when it is fired, and then fade back in? For extra clarity, i'd give it a green outline when its ready to fire. Make it optional, so you don't *have* to have this potentially distracting window affect you.
The only issue with this is that (at least right now) we don't have a "Weapon fired" event, iirc. If we did, and it returned the port ID of the weapon firing, then we could implement this ourselves in a plugin relatively easily, and is something I'd like to do.

The weapon icons on the HUD are sometimes extremely tiny, so that could be difficult to see. That is likely an entirely different issue, but I think a 'loading bar' type indicator would be a nice addition.

It might be possible to co-opt the existing mining beam progress bars.
..even if we did have an event, do the functions which return weapon ammo actually work? pretty sure turret ammo always returns fully loaded (perhaps by design).. havent tried basic weapons.
Would be kind of neat if the addon icon on the HUD changed colors when it was empty.
