Leave control option for capships
Currently, if you're piloting a capship and want to leave control to, say, switch up the cargo/addons in the ships in your cargo hold, you can't. Only way to do it is to undock and redock, which is an unnecessarily inconvenient, and may also not be possible in some conditions.
Currently, the Operations tab in the Tactical menu has only the (Control Capship) button. When you're piloting your capship, it's just blank. Instead, when piloting a capship, there should be a (Leave Control) button, along with a corresponding Lua function in the API.

+1 I was wanting this exact functionality the other day.

I don't think it matters how the Ops tab is configured, as long as we could have the ability to manipulate small ships (reconfigure, load/unload cargo), without needing to undock/dock again first.
I understand restrictions would apply if the cap is overstuffed, but otherwise, this would be cool.
I often find myself wondering why this isn't available now (apart from tecnical coding reasons). Perhaps when a ship is 'stored' in a cap, there's no room to 'work' on it or access cargo. But a ship that just 'docked' is in a 'working space' within the cap so can be managed. Moving from storage to 'working space' requires undocking.
Similarly ... 'overstuffing' eliminates all 'working space' so forget about moving stuff around in there ...
I bet Connie Captains wouldn't be hampered by these cramped conditions ...
