When your capship is in NPC mode and it's shields are lost, you get a message saying:

<insert name here>'s shields are down!

Suggestion is to implement a message for the opposite as well, when the capship regains shields. So if you've left your capship lying in an empty sector to regain shields, you're notified when it happens. The message could just be:

<insert name here>'s shields are back up!
