Defbots
I really dislike the latest modification to the defbots. They are way to thouch again. If a bot looks like a vult, it should fly and fight like a vult (but under bot control). I suggest:
- giving bots a real engine and real battery (maybe in random configs to make it harder to guess)
- give bots real weapons, for example gauss and sunflares
- spawn defbots "on demand", every time an enemy enters the homesector, X defbots spawn and do not respawn if they die

The bots will remain uber until the AI is done. It's not a permanent feature but a quick fix to help protect newbies in their home sectors. The AI has been delayed for a while especially by the new server code, the missions, and the dynamic economy. Once it's done the def bots will not be flying the super ships they have now. Nothing was changed about the bots in the most recent updates, except that for a while there has been a bug that made them take double damage which has now been fixed.
They are also uber because the devs want us to find ways around the coding so that they can improve the AI
The defbots currently provide challenge. Thats why they need to be so uber.
i think there was no change to the bots, i think they use to take doble damage from rockets and that stopped.
they're different, I think they're more fun though personally
