voice chat with inc, ray and team
be nice to have have a various voice chat times that we can chat with the devs in discord. A little chat might make some ideas get more or less traction when they are chatted out. I'm not much of a text posting person. My friend Luxen makes many of my suggestions sound better than I did.
That's not how suggestions work at all, kenny; the REASON we use the forums is that they can be kept and built on. And just cause I happened to be in VC with you before and understood what you'd been trying to suggest, doesn't mean you should give as little effort with your suggestions as you usually do. I'd rather you just leave the suggestions forum if you're gonna continue relying on >insert anyone's name here< instead of properly giving just ten minutes of time to properly write out an ARGUMENT for why you want something changed, which follows the rules Incarnate has listed in the relevant stickied post.
So, notwithstanding Luxen's comments, since I don't have any background on this.. I'm not seeking Suggestions via voice chat. That's about the last thing I want.
I don't have time for real-time, synchronous communication; that requires scheduling in my already complex life. That's why the forum is useful, it's asynchronous and I can check it whenever I have a moment, which may be at 2am.
Plus, as Luxen mentions, it's a whole historical record for posterity, so we can show the arguments around why we added something.. sometimes years later, when people forget or claim it shouldn't have happened (case in point: the 2017 player-created threads about chat toxicity issues, which led to the /report system.. as much as people may want to blame us for being heavy-handed or authoritarian, it was a strongly player requested concept).
So.. no, people need to use the Suggestions forum to write Suggestions. And, honestly, if you want or expect me to take the time to write nuanced responses, then it should be worth your time to write a nuanced and thorough Suggestion in the first place.
