NFZ no fire saftey toggle
allow players over combat 10 to turn off nfz safety. It would enhance pvp around stations for more enjoyable gameplay with the risks of firing in the nfz and having to worry about sf.
"allow players over combat 10 to turn off nfz safety"
If I remember correctly the NFZ that disabled weapons came from the station not the player?
In grey the NFZ doesn't disable weapons?
This suggestion seems like a loophole to revert NFZ changes back to old and pirate in nation space stations?
"enhance PVP" For who? and around what stations? I don't see a huge segment of players fighting around nation space stations.

-1. It should be on or off for everyone
So a combat 10 player can shoot in the NFZ at a combat 8 player, but the combat 8 player cannot fire? How does this help?
Rule #5 !

-1 , There is no restrictions in Greyspace. I'd like to quote what "Incarnate" said in this thread.
"Does it really matter all that much? I mean, when we're talking about this, it's mainly cases that led to the "weapons disabled in NFZ" suggestion in the first place: People hiding in capship docking bays to exploit SF attacks, or people station-camping launch bays. Neither are particular "good" for the game. Camping at the NFZ border? Go nuts."
Also, you can already attack players in "Nation Space" NFZ if you adapt the new tactics.
"Well, can't you use an Avalon to do this already? Or maybe even Swarms? The NFZ isn't very large. As far as I know, people simply haven't being doing this purely because they didn't need to."

With the NFZ update there was also the idea that there would be certain "smuggled" weapons that would be able to fire in the NFZ. This hasn't happened. I suggest that till a weapon for this is designed by the Devs, they can make the factional weapons like Corvus Ultra Positron, the Axia Accelerated Positron Blaster, Orion XGX and the Ineubis Raven usable in NFZ.
I think the 'smuggled weapon' mechanic will create the same problem that this OP would create. Once again, noobs being bullied. The ability to fire should be the same for everyone.

Don't engage in PvP around stations. Particularly in Nation Space.

I didn't say it would happen immediately. It requires quite a bit of balance-related work to prevent it from just instantly becoming another exploitable mechanic to attack newbies in NFZs.

I can say definitively that that is not going to happen, or anything like that. Your suggestion misses the point of removing shooting in the NFZ, as csgno1 points out.

@incarnate let’s test your theory with ravens for a few weeks. You’ll see they will be used responsibly to eradicate those who abuse the nfz and insult others roleplay. I would never use this to grief newbs. The person being hunted was guilded and outside of his nation space. VO software shouldn’t come between players and their roleplay.
>VO software shouldn’t come between players and their roleplay
Wait what?
VO software is what allows players their roleplay

Several other players have managed to kill other players capships in nation space after the recent NFZ changes which happened few months ago. Perhaps, you should stop making the stuff up?

You can already pick fights outside nation space NFZ if you adapt the tactics, get organized & work in a active group.

It allowed it soo much more in the past. I think there should be a balance that allows guilded people at least to exercise their roleplay between their guilds. For example shouldn't ONE and ITAN members be able to shoot each other anywhere they choose? SF and Faction standings should still apply, but why magic something that prohibits shooting someone.

@undeniable we're talking about inside the NFZ here. Your comments do not apply. We all know what you said. Stay on topic, please, my friend.
I mean? I can come up with some very very reasonable cannon on how NFZs will dampen/disable weapons fire right now. Incarnate said his idea was to bring in black market weapons that will allow to shoot within the NFZ.
I really don't think it's magic my self coming from an advanced world such as VO. I liked the nuanced idea of the NFZ incarnate aims for. We need these kinds of things in VO.
VO is very very big for our community I am sure you can find kills outside the NFZ. Until these illegal/black market guns are added in and a system is built the pirate community must adapt as all things do.
Again I would like to add in greyspace you can shoot in the NFZ.
Considering there are big lore gaps in VO lore/cannon and how things work I don't think calling this magic is a good rebuttal.
