Bring back Capture the Cargo
Many vets have been talking lately about the good ole days of VO when CTC was a galactic space football pastime of many pilots. I don’t even remember what year CTC was removed, but if I recall correctly, one of the major complaints was that the serco ctc bots made B8 unfun.
I propose bringing back CTC. The stats page for the event is still on the website. However, I suggest a different format.
Instead of hive bots transporting the Purified Xithricite Ore, I suggest that normal style convoys transport the ore. Instead of a set station for the voys to undock from, I suggest that the station is randomized across grey space. All subfactional stations from Latos to Pelatus being possible originating stations for the event.
The only constant should be the number of wormholes required to jump through before docking in the nation station. I suggest 5 or 6. So sometimes the finish line will be deeper in nation space than others.
The start station and the destination station will be announced in the old CTC channels. As will the current location of the ore and who is carrying it.
AND the UIT play as well this time around. For themselves.
The reward would be need to be something far more interesting than neut III’s. I am thinking either rights to manu or buy special weapons (such as the ones that could be smuggled into nation space to be used in NFZs or a special mega nuet or the rights to run a special manu mission for the alloy that is made using sammic ore.) Only pilots who belong to the nation that wins the previous week’s ctc can take these missions.
Because hive bots would no longer be used, the voys would not be aggressive to pilots pvping in b8. In fact, if someone is not in the 200 level channels, they won’t even know the event is taking place.
I realize this subject might be contentious, but I can’t wait to see everyone’s opinions on this. Have a great weekend everyone.

Previously the ctc voys used hive bot ships, but they were serco or itani. Unfortunatly the stupid bots that were supposed to be escorts would attack anybody with bad standing with their faction, rather then ignore them and stick to the ships they were defending. This caused two main problems.
First, the bots would leave their charges un-defended.
Second, given that Sedina B-8 is the arena, they'd end up interrupting duels.
As long as the bots are atleast smart enough to ignore potentially hostile ships that are at some reasonable distance, maybe 750M I see no problems.

+1.
Good idea. I would alter one thing, make all departures from Odia stations. Have the travel distances in grey be consistent.
I dont remember if there was a reason the convoy always left from wherever it left from and headed towards Serco space, but why not add some variability and have it spawn in different spots and head towards any of the major factions?
Include a way for UIT players to profit or participate. Maybe dropping off the crate at the fogged TPG sector on Dau K10 with a loss of a few points of itani or serco standing plus the UIT turrets will shoot at you.
Bring it back!
and nerf the axia transports towards the end, they're too freakin' fast!

Make it carry manufacturing components
"But then everyone will kill it"
Make the faction penalty severe
"But then pirates and UIT will still kill it"
Kill them
"What do I get if I win"
Defenders/escorters that appear on the stats site that are in good standing with the winning team get a mission at the next week that rewards them with some assembled manufacture components.
And that can vary wildly among many of the things the game has manufacturing for. Could even go MMO style and give you a choice of 1 of 3 items in the mission that couldve been built (in part) from delivered components

If the prize was valuable enough I would support bringing it back. Some more ideas for that:
-A sensor addon that displayed human-populated sectors within a 3x3 grid range (display in nav map), the addon permanently times out after 30 minutes of use.
-A sensor addon that displayed capship signatures across a system (display in nav map), the addon permanently times out after 30 minutes of use.
-A speed boost addon that increases your top speed by 15m/s, the addon permanently times out after 30 minutes of use.
