A way to mitigate Strike force assisted kills of innocent cap ships
The devs have stated that this is a complex issue to solve. It is a bug, not a feature. So i am trying to think up a band-aid for the problem. There have already been a few band-aids for the problem in the past few years. Including a 24 hour tkos for six violations of the NFZ, and penalizing the violator for kills made by the strike force.
I have an idea. Unfortunately it will only affect those who care about standing. Someone who decides that faction standings don't matter to them, will still be able to use the SF to attack others.
When the NFZ is violated (currently), there is a message that tells the violator that they need to leave sector immediately or die. My suggestion is to tie faction loss to the time it takes them to leave. For every second the violator is in that faction's space, they are losing standing.
To make this kind of faction standing hurt more, allow the standing to go below -1000. Currently, standing can be purchased back for 20 mil credits. I suggest that amount be doubled for those whos standing is below -1000.

this'd be *extremely* punishing to accidental fire...
Yeah it would be luxen. But it is the nfz. No means no. That said, there could be an on hud count down for when the penalty starts taking effect. 10 seconds after the initial violation and the violator should be gone. Or else. As I said, this is a band-aid fix for a problem that needs a lot more time and resources to truly fix.
Maybe make in it so no weapons can fire in nzf except PCB. Corvus would let you fire anything like normal.
If they can jam your mine launcher they should be able to do the same with other weapons. Pcb wouldn't hurt the station but would be cool if it had a "power cell" and if you pcb the station the lights shut off xD

-1 but if it's done anyway please let reppers be used in the nfz
I wonder if it would be possible to have the dock shove a ship back out after 2 seconds or so

I'm just noting that we pretty recently had a discussion about preventing all fire in the NFZ.
The response was ultimately mixed.
I'm actually not against preventing damaging fire in the NFZ, as a "solution", because it's really simple for us.. far easier than other solutions, and it addresses a lot of different griefing problems.
I've never been a big fan of the "magical zone" thing, but I've also been dealing with trying to "improve NFZ responses" for like uhh.. 19 years or something, and I'm getting pretty tired of the issue at this point.
Anyway, I know it isn't the OP solution here, but if people want to break it into a separate thread, for further debate, go for it.

What about a lockout so you can't dock with capships that you don't own if you trigger a TKOS in the sector? Or maybe adding another dimension to capship keys that prevents players from docking if their standing with the local faction is too low, or the owner could set faction standing requirements to dock on the keys they give out? I suppose that last idea is worthy of its own thread.
