Make a monthly (or weekly?) monetary prize for each tube you have the fastest time on...

Also motivates people to use the tubes more. The tubes are a good feature and need to be improved in ways like this because they are open 24/7 and everybody loves them.. there's just no prize though, other than your name on the records.

I agree in this. Some prize would be good, like that more ppl would race in those tubes, including myself.

The reason they don't (and probably won't) have a prize, is because they are very very easy to break. For example, if you make it "through* the wall after passing the first checkpoint, you can then complete the race by simply headbutting the tubes near where the checkpoints are, and complete the race from outside the tube. Or fall out of the track on the last checkpoint, then run to the exit outside the track (this happens on accident, imagine what times you could get if you practiced this?)

Like a lot of things in VO, they were only stuck into the game after players asked for their return (they used to be a feature of the Alpha test universe, and sometimes others). They only got added back to the game as people kept asking for them. So due to borkeness

Adding a month;y or weekly prize would make the tubes a whole lot more competitive. It would also bring in more players interested in racing.
