Revamp Mission System - in-flight selection
It is unnecessarily cumbersome to have to travel to stations *every single time* one wants to embark upon a (solo) mission. Only missions which "give" you something in the station, or in the sector (i.e. manufacturing, convoys, squadron, data pads, etc) should require a station visit to initiate the mission.
Otherwise all other missions, with perhaps the exception of a very limited and exclusive set (the Itani Test Pilot mission, for instance) should be acquirable in-flight provided sufficient standing is reached to access the missions.
This would speed up a lot of gameplay. I know personally I get annoyed when I have to visit a station to take another hive mission or deneb skirmish mission... enough to the point where I'd rather log off. However, if I could just immediately take the next mission, addiction (i.e. "just one more...") would overcome the annoyance of revisiting a station.
Optional caveat:
-Missions can still originate from stations, but players must have visited that station at least one time for the missions to show up.

A lot of individual missions are architecturally written to have a given starting location. They would have to be rewritten, or the missions all audited to figure out which ones have challenges around that.
It would probably present some other internal problems as well.
If it were trivial, we would have done that back when we made the missions globally visible in the PDA, without being docked.
