Am i missing something? You already get notified who attacked your capship if the capital ship is in a monitored sector.

Actually it does tell you who is attacking. And then it tells you have have 15 minute to blow them up.

You must not have played in the past 12-14 months. These changes went out in 2020. You get an alert if someone attacks your capship AND you get 15 minutes to kill the attacker.

If you can communicate with your ship I think it should say a name on the notification not just monitored sector warning. Should be able to see it's radar as well guess that'd be another suggestion.
I think it's a good idea, more information is better.
The only concern that comes to mind is basically the "spam" factor of a lot of different people (or bots) attacking a capship at once. The sort of thing that would happen in the Unknown System, for instance.
I don't really want to fire off a zillion notifications. But, I guess we could just include the player or bot-name for the "first notification".
I just want to be clear that it's a latching thing.. don't expect comprehensive data on how much your capship is being attacked, via notification.

+1 but only when players attack for the names given.

It doesn't notify in ion storms or Greyspace ,
It should notify the attacker name whether it's attacked in monitored space, ion storms or grey

first notification only would be fine and it should only work in monitored space
so capies in empty sectors would be fair game
and if your standing with a faction was below 0 they wouldnt feel obliged to notify you

Why? If capships can receive and send communication outside of sectors, I see no reason to exclude "whodunnit" if it's in an unmonitored system. "Unmonitored" refers to nation monitoring, not overall communication capability.

Who's to say what is being used to relay the information and what the capabilities are of what is relaying the information between sectors. Perhaps the information being reported could have limitations based on how far away you are from your capship (Sectors or systems)and/or whether it's in populated space that would have equipment more suitable for longer range transmission . Also, as has been noted before, realism isn't always beneficial to gameplay. I wouldn't mind some form of this being implemented, but if it were I'd like to see some limitations on it such as : if you were close by and or in a monitored system you could see who is attacking and get updates on your ships health, however, the further away you are the less information you receive.
