A particularly devious drone, the Preta is a cunning ambusher. It will hide in debris or nearby asteroids, cutting out its main power source and using linked hive nanites to slowly moniter its surroundings, effectively cutting out its visibility on radars. The moment it detects an intruder, this drone powers up and deploys its full range of equipment, locking down its target and destroying them.

Should it be destroyed, in turn, those same nanites will deploy, and after only a few seconds of respite, it's corpse will charge back into the fray, perhaps even more fervently than before. The effectively undead hive will doggedly pursue its destroyer, even across the system, until the nanites are simply incapable of holding its shell together, and only then will it truly deactivate.

I'm glad you think so, but i'm so curious as to how you arrived at that conclusion, since this drone wouldn't behave like other NPCs, and it is meant to be found in the outer regions exclusively...
