Damaged Conduit
An electrically charged panel found on large debris and derelict ships, and maybe even on smaller stations. This exposed conduit behaves similarly to a lightning mine in functionality, electrocuting ships that approach too closely. However, while it has a lot more electrical power behind it, its range is much shorter (it is, after all, not specifically designed to discharge power across space like a mine would be).
Open conduits can provide small localized obstacles that can be destroyed or utilized; pilots could use a conduit as a death trap for pursuant enemies, especially by funneling them into the confines of a derelict's inner space. If a conduit were destroyed, it should result in an electrical blast, draining power cells and doing moderate damage.
On the other hand, pilots could try to repair the conduit with repair blasters instead, either to complete regional objectives (temporary derelict sighting 'event', repair a series of conduits to drop an energy barrier where loot could be found), to complete missions (A station that is "damaged" could have damaged conduits spawned, and prices and repair costs go up as a result, but you can take a mission to repair the station (the mission wouldn't be neccesary, but it would highlite the conduits)), or just to remove the danger of the conduit itself.
