Make the capship "insurance" mission available at all capital class stations
Essentially, have the "Replace Your (capship)" mission be on the board at all capship-dockable stations, not just Latos m-7.
I look at this as an equity issue:
Being able to home at a nearby station, when putting oneself in a situation of higher risk, is a basic and essential tactic in this game, yet there is only one place to "replace" your capship on the entire map, even though there are several capital-dock-equipped stations in a reasonable distribution throughout the 'verse.
For example: losing a capship in a botched hive skirm in odia, and having to put it all back together two systems away is one thing, but winding up having to do the same thing out of initros, or cantus for that matter, is a bigger, if not a much bigger task.
This would, of course, be standings-dependent.

The tridents are made in M7 by corvus. Makes sense that only they can replace them, as player tridents are different from the NPC ones.
Apart from the RP perspective, I'm guessing the limit is intentional so as to not make it too convenient for the players.
Maybe provide replacements for a much higher fee and require POS standings?

Isn't M7 called the shipyards? It would make sense that capships are acquired from m7.
Perhaps the other nations could have their own shipyards. Maybe TPG could license the goliath for manufacture at those shipyards.

hate to down vote someone's idea.. but on this one, the requirement to go to M-7 is essential to the balance of risk associated with end game content.. which is where you are at if you own a cap ship. The reasons I believe this have a lot to do with the relatively low cost of the insurance mission. You can get your 500k in a single goliath trade. Also the tendency of some vets to stay in nation space instead of interacting in "end game" zones like they should be. So at the very least you should have to risk 2 wormholes to replace it. This is a trip you can make pretty safely ..even in an unarmed goliath.
I would be more inclined to up vote something that would make capship weapons more available or expand those options.

When Tridents were first built the only station in the verse they could dock was in M-7 Latos. This is why the mission is there to start with. Things have progressed since the original Dent. Shields and better weapons are good examples. We can also now dock at more stations, so it makes good sense to add the mission to at least the stations in Nation space where they can now dock. Even it the fee for the insurance mission was double, it would be worth it to many of us. It could be set up that if Cap was destroyed you would be sent to station you were homed at, and if that one had Docks for Caps, you could do the mission at that station, If no Cap docks, you would have to fly to Latos for the mission.

NC is absolutely correct: capship use and utility has progressed far beyond having just one locale at which to _replace_ your capship. Plus: making the insurance mission cost more, or be mission based, or both, is totally reasonable...i would gladly pay 2 or 4 times the current price to replace my cappie in odia or itan instead of latos. +1 to that. :)

Sure. But the Trident Type-M is kind of a knockoff made by Corvus. I can't imagine the major factions would want to give you a trident for a Insurance policy you hold with Corvus. Maybe Type S&P's will be built in nation space.

-1 currently all factions get their ships from the m7 shipyard. Why change it? If this is approved, my Corvus greyhounds should be available everywhere since I have license for it since I can dock it everywhere. You are licensed for a ship only available in the shipyards. That is the way.
I have to go all the way to Odia m14 to get a greyhound . You all who agree with this agrees that should be changed! Thanks.

Capships are made at M7. If you want to replace one, it has to be made.
I *might* be willing to +1 it if it were a variant only available at the other station (i.e. Trident-S at Sol).
But the insurance mission is already broke in my opinion since the cool-off period doesn't happen. I think after you replace the first, there should be a week or two before you can replace another.

+1 SkinWalker’s comment. Couldn’t agree more!
Currently, you can park and store your capship(s) at capital stations...
it would stand to reason that replacement capships, already manufactured, regardless of class, could be made available there-- the M-class would just be the ground-breaker.
Plus, upping the cost of replacement at outlying capital stations is the way to offset paying for your Type-M replacement in Itan or Sol, as opposed to m-7: if the cost is 5 or even 10mil, and requires standing + mission tree, then it's not quite as simple as just having deep pockets.

Same goes for the greyhound, then. I’ll love buying replacement greyhounds there. If you could replace a complicated ship like a cap ship, than my little glass ship Greyhound will be easy for those stations.
Um, you can purchase multitudes of and truck/pilot hounds to any station in the verse and leave them there to hop in and use later...not so with capships.

It would be easier to buy them. I say, let’s test your idea with the Greyhound glass ship first before opening it up to capital ships.

A Greyhound is not a capship and has no place in this discussion in any way.
Either stick to the subject at hand, or go start your own thread about purchasing Greyhounds.

The greyhound analogy makes sense. If a ship as complicated and specialized as a Goliath or trident can be made at other capital stations, surely a Greyhound is a simple one to do.
I'm still -1 with this. The cap ship should not be easy or simple to replace. If anything, the original notion of increasing cost of subsequent insurance mission use along with cool down periods before repurchase should be enacted.

capships are already OP, no need to make them easier to replace.
Being lazy is not a valid argument.
Removing NFZ , Temp KOS, SF, enabling mine laying , from all capships docking capable station should be a pre requisite to this suggestion.
